#1: Looking Back - Old Pictures Author: mutukLocation: Vice mayor Rojilyn Bagabaldo PostPosted: Sun Mar 26, 2006 1:35 am

Mas luma mas magaling like pre-war. Jun jun is now creating a website for Paete Memorabilia, a collections of old pictures featuring Paete. Baka po meron kayong natatabi na mga lumang pictures about Paete, paki send po sa akin thru e-mail o kahit dito sa usap at amin pong isasama.

Here are the five people I have identified:

RITA CADAPAN - first girl from the right. She was my friend, neighbor and she correspended with me when after I left Paete. Her siblings are still in Paete: Lydia, Nena, Inton....

IVES CADAYONA - Lady wearing a top blouse with 4 buttons. She was a cantora in church, sister to Eloy and Rico Cadayona.

MIKE CAIDIC - guy to the left of Ives Cadayona. He was the town emcee for generations and very active in youth movements.

INANG Felicitas "ITAS" AGBAY - to the right of Ives Cadayona. Their arms almost touching each other. She was my catechism teacher in church. We called it then "Aral ng Dasal."

TANDANG LOLENG AC-AC - above the right shoulder of Inang Itas Agbay. Gene Agbay should be able to positively identify his Mom. Tandang Loleng was the owner then of the bakery next to the Lambingan Bridge.

Virgil G. Madrinan

More pictures to post. Isa isa po muna para masaya!!!

Rolling Eyes Vice Mutuk,

Mrs.Aurora Quezon. To her left is Mrs. Faustina Adea Adefuin. Look at the
uniform of the policeman on the left of the picture. That was the uniform during
the Commonwealth.
Virgil G. Madrinan

Vice-Mayor noong panahon iyon.

the lady on the left beside the policeman is Concepcion Dandana Quesada, wife of Eusebio
Quesada, parents of Lee Quesada.

yong nakasuot ng police uniform ay si Amang Basiling Agbay, who at that time
could be the Chief of Police. (kumpirmado napo nung anak - Letty Agbay Sison)

ng kanilang lumang pictures about Paete. Mas luma ay mas magaling.

I could be wrong but that man should be Amang Dandoy Balquiedra my favorite PMT Instructor in Eastern and community leader.

Tila yong nakasuot ng police uniform ay si Amang Basiling Agbay, who at that time could be the Chief of Police. I once saw a picture of him in uniform, at naka "bustipol" (tama ba ang spelling?). His height and built and silhouette resembles Amang Basiling. Calling Kang Letty ! Pakitingin lang kung ito ang ama.

Vice:

I think the gentleman to the extreme right is Mr. Tomas Madridejos, Sr. The lady just behind the right upper tip of the banner is again the grand dame of Paete, Tandang Loleng Ac-Ac. She is very recognizable. To the left of Mrs. Faustina Adefuin is Tandang Bina Dono, wife of the Postmaster Mr. Melecio Dono.

Angel,

Could you possibly enlarge the picture accordingly (ideal one). I'am in a hurry!

Thanks,
Mutuk

Enlarging the picture does not come with increased resolution. Pictures can be resized to a smaller one but the opposite (enlarging) does not yield a good image. I do not have a software that can intrapolate images, which is needed when working with small pictures. Sorry.

Nahirapan nga ako. Kaya pala ganon.

Judy C.,

Salamat sa replacement nung picture. Tanong po. Play kaya yun o ito ba ay parang little prince and princess ang tipo? Saan pong lugar yumg pwesto?

Nenett: I can identify three people in this photo: Fr. Nemesio Madriņan, last row on top, wearing a collar. My brother, Ador "Ted" Madrinan, [RIP] 3rd from the shoulder level of the Bishop Verzosa. Man, he was good looking! To the left of my brother is Pablo "Cambe" Afuang who lives in Union, N.J. He is my personal friend.

Sir Vir,

Thanks,

Vice Mutuk: These are the recognizable faces of women from left to right in ordinal number: 2nd Marta Reyes, 3rd Nita Bagabaldo, Casi Cadang to the right of 5th Bina Dono, Cirilo Fadul to the right of 9th Felisa Cadayona [Tia ni Ka Noel] and 13th Loleng Ac-Ac. I was 8 years, 7 months and 10 days old when this was taken. I won't be surprised if I was one of the kids in the background. The two houses in the background were those of the Marasigan and Cagayat families.

On this very same ground sans the roof I saw the same Regodon de Honor in December 31, 2004 during the BalikPaete. Same dance, different dancers. There is the continuity of our culture.

Actually I use a magnifying glass when I view your postings. I am most happy to see these pictures for they are the frozen images in time of the Paete that I knew. I feel connected. This was my generation. I have been away since 1957.
