Metro Manila Launching

Sa anumang salo salo ng mga taga Payti hindi kumpleto pag walang umaatikabong usloan, tawanan at hagalpakan, walang humpay na kainan at sa huli ay ang hindi matapos tapos na paalaman. Yesterday's Metro Manila Menorabilia Book launching was no exception. It was a great honor for us, the Rainbow Coalition to launch this book of a lifetime.

Our Rainbow Coalition president and the first little mayor of Paete [1967?], the handsome [...ayon sa kanya!] Raul Roque read the short message of the editor in chief Fred Cagayat. His speech was interrupted many times by thunderous applause...ala GMA's State of the Nation Address.... Para walang lamangan sa exposure at picture taking while reading the speech, we took turns in reading it: Mam Amor, me [Saida] hanggang ang sa natirang basahin na lamang ni Floukay ay ang "Mabuhay ang Paete....Fred Cagayat, Edito in Chief"...lugi daw! Anyways, kuntento na rin siya sa dami ng kanyang pictures na may hawak na buwig buwig na lansones Payti

Maraming naunang nag commit pero hindi nakarating. Sayang, they missed so much fun! The lady of the hour was the ever energetic, ever vibrant and ever poised and beautiful Judge Benie Adefuin. Bago ko pa man siya makilala ng personal, her brod Omar has already warned me in email "pasensya ka na at parang announcer yang kapatid kong yan...maglagay ka na lang ng tapon sa tenga mo" True to his words, Justice Bennie was the life of the party and there was no dull moment with her [sa aming nakababata we call her "Tita Benie", but to Kuya Raul na hindi naman kalayuan ang edad sa kanya, hehehehe...she is the "Ate Benie"]

She was trying to re-connect her dugong-Payti to the attendees so she asked each of us to introduce ourselves. Dahil natural sa kanyang dugong-Payti ang pagiging komikera...aba, may sarili din siyang"kambyo" kaya kahit paliko liko ang aming topic ay walang tigil ang aming tawanan. Tatahi-tahimik lang si itong Emil QC sa isang sulok but when it was his turn to speak, he introduced himself by saying...."Your honor, ako po si Emil Quesada Carolino..." , muntik na kaming lahat mahulog sa upuan sa katatawa At up-to-date si Tita...mula sa showdown ni Dorina Pineda at Lavinia Arguelles sa Bituing Walang Ningning, sa super hero na si Super Inggo, sa kaso ni Nicole sa Subic Rape case, Deal or No Deal, free legal advice sa squatting at marital relationship, the phenomenal victory of UST in the UAAP, sa painting at tai-chi, sa Garci tape [yung original...not the nauseating Paete-Garci version... ] and even her very personal life, bukas sa lahat....at lilipat na rin daw ng registration sa Paete para doon bumoto... Sayang lang at pag nagre-retire pala ang isang judge ay expired na rin ang kanyang license to officiate a civil wedding...muntik na kaming nagkaroon ng instant kasalan! Sa sobrang saya namin, everybody present became an instant member of the Rainbow Coalition kaya napakabilis ng paglaganap ng aming chapters sa iba't ibang lugar.... at lahat ay gustong mag get-together kami every 3 months...at palagi daw naming iimbitahan si Tita Justice Benie .

Marami pa sanang kwento pero kulang na ako sa oras [I have to go back to the meeting...] Maraming maraming salamat sa lahat ng dumalo. May iilang hakbang papuntang plaza para tumanggap ng memorabilia pero nagbyahe pa ng Parañaque to be with us....at may dala pang napakasarap na kalamay at laksa, ang "best seller" next to my nilagang okra at bagoong Matutulog na lang ako kagabi ay napapahagalpak pa rin ako ng tawa. Sayang lang at hindi ko napapirmahan sa mga attendees yung kani-kanilang page esp sa 2 natatanging anak na si Mam Amor at si Justice Benie.
